Backroads 2019 Trip Leader Applications Now Open
For college students, employment during the summer is what keeps us financially afloat during the fall and spring semesters. According to a recent press release, Backroads is now accepting applications to become a trip leader for the 2019 season. Founded in 1979 by Tom Hale, Backroads has been in business for more than 39 years and is celebrating their 40th year in 2019! They host thousands of guests each year, serving as the world’s leading active travel company. Their trips include running biking, hiking, multi-adventure, family, private and active ocean and river cruise trips all over the world on 6 continents in more than 60 countries.
As far as employment with Backroads, in April 2017, the Washington Post said locking down a position with this company is equivalent to getting into an Ivy League school for higher education — so it’s a pretty big deal. If you think you have what it takes — give it a shot.
“If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a Backroads Trip Leader, we’d love to hear from you,” said Tom Hale, Founder and President of Backroads. “We are looking for passionate applicants who love people, customer service, problem-solving and most of all exploring the world under your own power.”
There are only a few qualifications you must make sure you meet before applying.
You must:
- Be 21 years old (or older!)
- Have a driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
- Be fluent in English
