Is it okay to fast periodically [from food, social media, parties] in college?

Fasting from certain things is definitely healthy. I have found that when I am super busy I go on "fasts" from social media by accident, and it really saves you a lot of time you don't realize you are wasting. Similarly, when some of my friends have broken their phones or something of the like, they have found that it is actually peaceful to go without for a little while. In terms of parties I definitely think it is OK to fast every now and then. Your body can only handle so much, and especially when you have a lot going on at school, the parties should be the first to go. In terms of food you have to be careful. You can "fast" in terms of not eating certain foods (desserts, junk food, Dominoes etc.) for a little while as a cleanse, but you certainly should not stop eating. Your body needs the fuel to not only keep you energized and focused, but to protects against various diseases going around, too! So, in the sense that I assume you used the word, "fast," yes, I think it is okay, and probably healthy to do so from all three things every once in a while. Balance is key to a good life!
